East Idaho Western Photographer

Capturing Emotions, moments, feelings, & memories for so many years to come!

Hey friends! You might be here to learn more about me, my lifestyle, or simply because you want to catch up on my life. Whatever your reason is, welcome! I hope we have time together to build a friendship and connection. My name is Krystal Barnes, and I am your local East Idaho Western Photographer. I will be the first one to admit I didn't grow up on a farm, or a ranch. I grew up in a neighborhood with miniature dachshunds, and an older brother that made it his main point in life it irritate me. But in the deepness of it all, I am a sucker for all things western. The lifestyle, the work, the fashion, history, and so much more! I grew up in a little town outside of Rigby Idaho, that I still call home to this day. I have one older brother, and a loving mom and dad that have supported me through all of the things in life! If you knew me in school, I was often known to be confident and scary.... not the proudest way that I want to be remembered, but hey, that who I am. I would like to say that all the people that think I am "scary" were looking from afar and then followed up to let me know how cool I was. So I will take that as a compliment, I guess. Let's take a stroll down memory land and catch you up to current day Krystal! Let's treat this as a scrapbook of my life, hopefully this makes someone proud!

My Life

My Life

My first years.

My first years.

I was born and raised in east Idaho, and would love to do the same thing for my future kids. Small towns get a-lot of hate from small town people, but I think there is a healthy balance of growing up in a small town, and getting raised in a small town. I got raised in a small town by two of the most understanding and loving people I know. My parents.

What the last 2 years have looked like for me as an employee, business owner, wife, and friend!

When I tell you I fell flat on my face the first 6 months out of high school, I mean it. I knew from the young age of 5.... that I was gunna be a nurse just like my momma. Well if you did not know i'm not in nursing school and have ZERO plans on ever doing that. I got my CNA when i was a junior in highschool, and so I worked as a CNA at a local hospital right out of high school. Those first two months following graduation, I learned quickly that the medical feild is not for me. I then moved jobs and worked for a corperate company at 18 years old, and also realized that the "cubical" life was also not for me. So yes, lots of failure, but that lead me to the sucess and life I have today! I currently work for a local hair salon that gave me the space to breath. I wanted to find the space to feel valued, and appreciated for my life! Finding a spot for you to feel cared for but also stretched for your own sucess, is so important!

Here comes the Bride.

In the heat of all that, I was also making the most amzing memories with my husband, at the time boyfriend. We then choose to get married and start our life together. Our life doesn't look like the "normal" life you would think we would have, but thats a story for another time. I am grateful for the life I have and the struggles that come with it! Everyone's lifes are hard, and I hope you know how amazing you are doing in your life.

Thats all for now!

I am excited to start this part of my business and website! Look forward to future posts of my sessions, adventures, tips and so so so much more! Thank you for being here, I hope you stay a while!
